Purpose and audience
Ram Ready Financial Futures is an independent, open-source pilot built with first-year Angelo State students in mind, while remaining openly accessible to the public. It teaches how financial systems work rather than prescribing one correct way to live.
Suggested uses
- First-year seminar supplement
- New-student orientation module
- Business-school introductory unit
- Student-success or advising resource
- Library or financial-wellness workshop series
Facilitating sensitive topics
When discussing income inequality, opportunity, and outcomes, avoid framing financial hardship as a personal failing. The course explicitly teaches that health, disability, caregiving, discrimination, geography, luck, and economic conditions shape outcomes alongside personal choices. Facilitators should reinforce that framing rather than a "just budget better" narrative.

Limits of the simulation
All simulator numbers are illustrative teaching simplifications, not individualized financial planning. No path in the course promotes itself as the universally correct one, and no setback in the story is an irreversible dead end.
